  • Yes. Thrive offers online individual counselling for clients anywhere in British Columbia, as well as in-person sessions in Chilliwack and Abbotsford. Online therapy can be especially helpful if you live outside the Fraser Valley or prefer the comfort of connecting from home.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients come for short-term support, around 4–8 sessions, while others continue for several months or longer. Your therapist will work with you to set goals and revisit progress as you go. The process moves at your pace.

  • The most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship between you and your counsellor. At Thrive, we’ll help match you with someone whose background and approach align with your needs, whether that’s cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), or another evidence-based method.

  • The first session is a chance to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. Your counsellor will ask about your goals, explain how sessions work, and answer any questions. It’s completely normal to feel nervous, you’ll set the pace together.

  • Session fees vary depending on the counsellor’s credentials and experience. Many Thrive therapists are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) or Registered Social Workers (RSWs), which means sessions are often covered under extended health benefits.   • No referral is required. You can reach out directly to Thrive to get matched with a counsellor and begin as soon as you’re ready.
