Bonnie Luhmert (she/her)- Student Intern
I believe that that undoing aloneness is one of the most crucial tasks of therapy. If you feel alone in what you are experiencing or just feel that you could benefit from a non-judgemental listening ear, I would be happy to be that person for you. So often the things that overwhelm us start to feel more manageable once we have an attuned other to talk to. My goal is that you will feel safe, supported and understood in our sessions together.
I am an empathetic person with a gentle and calming presence. I have ten years of experience working in the mental health field and have worked with many diverse clients. My approach is person-centered, while drawing on narrative, somatic and attachment-based theories and techniques.
In addition to working on completing my master’s in counselling, I also have specific training in working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and individuals navigating postpartum.
My hobbies include going out for coffee, doing some home baking and spending time with friends and family, including my two young daughters. I enjoy expressive movement (kitchen dance parties with my kids) and one day I would like to read for pleasure again!
I can offer support to those ages 14+ in the areas of:
Life transitions
Stress and Anxiety
Depression
Faith deconstruction
Relationships
Grief
Postpartum mood disorders
Issues related to pregnancy and postpartum
2SLGBTQIA+ issues
