Sarah Price M.Ed., R.C.C.
My hope is to ease people’s suffering and to empower them to navigate life’s challenges in healthy ways. Using a mind/body approach, I work collaboratively with my clients by providing a supportive environment where they can work through their struggles, build on their strengths, and develop emotional resilience.
Do any of these statements sound familiar:
I struggle to express my emotions
I hate my body or I feel disconnected from my body
I am kind to others but find it hard to be kind myself
I feel anxious and overwhelmed
I find it hard to say no, I am a people pleaser!
As a parent, I shouldn’t be having this hard of a time. I thought this would be easier!
I’m in mid-life and not feeling like myself…easily dysregulated, anxious, having trouble focusing and functioning like I used to.
My areas of focus are:
Healthy Emotion Expression
Body image and Embodiment
Navigating hormonal/life transitions: pregnancy, postpartum and peri/post menopause
Parenting Support (including Neurodivergent & ASD)
Anxiety
Self-Compassion (Learn to be kinder to yourself)
Boundaries & Assertiveness
Youth Counselling – including autistic youth
I help people learn how to regulate their nervous systems and express their emotions in more effective ways and provide them with skills and strategies to feel more present, happier and healthier. My goal is to help people learn how to be kinder to themselves and to feel courageous and capable to face life’s challenges. I incorporate the latest research in neuroscience and use a variety of counselling approaches such as Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-compassion, and other strength-based and experiential therapies.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with over 2 decades of experience working as an educator and counsellor. I divide my work time between my private practice at Thrive Collective and the Fraser Health Adult Eating Disorder Team. When not working, I’m a busy mother of two amazing teenage boys, two rambunctious dogs, and a step-mum to a wonderful young woman. I love being outside in nature, travel, dancing, reading and time with family and friends.
My training includes a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and Bachelors of Education and Arts Degrees from Queen’s University. I also have additional training in: Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy and Somatic Therapy for Complex PTSD, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Adventure & Wilderness Therapy.
Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (Member # 3483).
