About me / My approach
I’m Melissa (she/her). I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, wife, mother of two, friend, and colleague. My path, both personally and professionally, has shaped how I show up in this work: with warmth, compassion, and deep respect for your unique journey.
I know how important it is to feel seen and understood, especially when life feels heavy or uncertain.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life. Particularly those who are neurodiverse (ASD/ADHD) and have developmental disabilities. I also have a deep love in working with those who are navigating the profound transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. These life moments can be joyful and challenging in equal measure, and it’s my honour to hold space for whatever you’re carrying.

My Approach
My counselling style is person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I believe we all carry an inner wisdom that can become difficult to access during stressful or overwhelming times. Together, we work to reconnect with that inner knowing in a way that feels safe, grounded, and empowering.
I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including:
Somatic and nervous-system–informed work
Trauma-informed therapy
Systemic and relational approaches
Strengths-based counselling
Our work together is collaborative and paced to meet you where you are with the goal of helping you feel more connected, confident, and supported in your life.

Common Questions
How can counselling help with ADHD?
Counselling can help you better understand how ADHD affects your thoughts, emotions, and daily life. Therapy often focuses on emotional regulation, overwhelm, organization, self-esteem, and developing strategies that work with your brain not against it.
What is postpartum counselling?
Postpartum counselling supports individuals after childbirth as they adjust emotionally, mentally, and physically. It can help with anxiety, depression, identity shifts, relationship changes, and the challenges of new parenthood.
Is online counselling effective for ADHD and postpartum support?
Yes. Many clients find online counselling more accessible and less stressful, especially during postpartum recovery or when managing ADHD-related overwhelm. Virtual sessions can be just as effective as in-person care.
How long does counselling usually last?
The length of counselling varies depending on your goals and needs. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others choose ongoing therapy for deeper work or continued support.
