Deniz Shokati, Student Intern

My name is Deniz, and I am looking forward to working with you.

As an intern counsellor, my goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment to empower individuals to develop healthy relationships with their minds and their bodies. I strive to be the guiding light that encourages self-discovery and helps individuals navigate life’s challenges by providing the necessary tools.

I believe in individualizing my approach to suit the needs of the individual and their goals. Within my therapeutic practice, I use a culturally informed integrative approach that includes but is not limited to cognitive behavioural theories (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFBT), and person-centred approach.

A bit about me: I am a compassionate and empathetic person committed to helping others reach their full potential. I believe everyone has that potential and when given the right resources and support, they can reach it.

In my personal time, I am often found spending time with my partner and several animals enjoying the great outdoors. My hobbies also include reading, practicing yoga, drawing and spending time with family and friends.

Areas of focus:
